To celebrate the hundredth design posted to this website, and to fulfil the requests of many correspondents wanting an amplifier more powerful than the 25W MosFet, a 60 - 90W High Quality power amplifier design is presented here. Circuit topology is about the same of the above mentioned amplifier, but the extremely rugged IRFP240 and IRFP9240 MosFet devices are used as the output pair, and well renowned high voltage Motorola's transistors are employed in the preceding stages. The supply rails voltage was kept prudentially at the rather low value of + and - 40V. For those wishing to experiment, the supply rails voltage could be raised to + and - 50V maximum, allowing the amplifier to approach the 100W into 8 Ohm target: enjoy! High Efficiency Power Amplifier 2 x 30W into 8Ω or 1 x 60W into 4 Ω

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The DDX-2050 power device is a monolithic dual channel H-Bridge that can provide up to 30 watts  per channel of audio power at very high efficiency. The DDX-2050 power device  contains a logic interface, integrated bridge  drivers, high efficiency MOSFET output  transistors and protection circuitry. The device  may be used as a dual bridge or reconfigured as  a single bridge with double the output current  capability.  The benefits of the DDX amplification system are  an all-digital design that eliminates the need for a  digital to analog converter (DAC) and the high  efficiency operation derived from the use of  Apogee's patented damped ternary pulse width  modulation (PWM). This approach provides an  efficiency advantage over conventional Class-D  designs and up to three times the efficiency of  typical Class A/B amplifiers with music input  signals.

Subwoofer Amplifier Circuit 60W

Using the STK4038X audio amplifier IC, can be designed a very simple high power and efficiency audio power amplifier . This circuit is manufactured by Sanyo Corporation and will provide a output power of 60 watts on a 8 ohms load or 4 ohms load with 0.008% distortion . The output power that is provided by this audio IC , can be more higher , but with more distortion.If you will use a 8 ohms load you must power this audio amplifier project from a dual +/- 40 volts DC power supply and if you’ll use a 4 ohms load you must power this audio project form a dual +/- 33.5 volts DC power source. To prevent over heating the STK4038X audio power IC must be heatsinked on a good heatsink . Also you must use a very well filtered power supply ( a 10000uF capacitor will be fine for this audio project) .
